There are a number of reasons why someone might want to hop on a flight and jet set off into our stunning little corner of the world in Bozeman, Montana. Unlike other mountain towns, which can be incredibly difficult to get to, Bozeman continues to make itself more and more accessible through direct flights to the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN). Not to mention, the airport is a short, 15-minute drive from downtown Bozeman – and no big-city traffic on the highway, either. Whether you want to spend part of your winter enjoying the incredible skiing and snowboarding that Bozeman offers, or just looking to breathe some fresh mountain air, Bozeman makes it possible. Or, if 2020 has taught us anything, it is that an escape from city life, whether it's for the weekend or a nice long stretch, is sometimes exactly what the doctor ordered.
Southwest Airlines just announced that it will begin daily service at BZN beginning May 27, 2021. The addition of Southwest Airlines will bring nonstop flights between Bozeman and both Denver and Las Vegas, and include same-plane or connecting service to and from more than 50 other Southwest cities. Plus, Southwest's flights are known for being incredibly affordable, with one-way fares as low as $39. With 9 total airlines servicing the Bozeman airport, travel from your city, at your convenience, is easier than ever.
In the last year, the Bozeman airport has seen quite a bit of change as it’s added an extended list of nonstop flights from all parts of the country, as well as a 75,000 square foot addition that brought four new gates to the hub.
Just last week, the Bozeman airport also announced more direct flights, with the addition of Austin, TX, Oakland, CA, and San Diego, CA for as low as $59 one way. East coasters need not worry, either, as the airport also added flights from Fort Lauderdale, Charlotte, Nashville last summer.
It’s important to note that some of these direct flights are more seasonal, while others are year-long offers for those looking to escape to the mountains. If the seasonal options go well, it’s likely they will open the door to other direct flights through the airlines, as well as a transition of some flights from seasonal to year-long. Where else can you fly direct to Bozeman from? Let’s take a look.
