The museum’s planetarium offers awe-inspiring shows about the cosmos projected onto a 40-foot dome. The American Computer and Robotics Museum allows you to nerd out on the past, present, and future of technology, with exhibits that span more than 4,000 years of innovation. Go Ice Skating

Lace-up your skates and glide (or wobble) across the ice at any one of Bozeman’s several ice rinks. Beall Park, Southside Park, and Bogert Park all have seasonal outdoor rinks, some of which are covered, that usually begin opening around Christmas. Haynes Pavillion is an indoor rink that hosts the city’s hockey teams but also offers public skating hours. You can rent skates here, or at Chalet Sports before hitting the ice, and plan to grab a cup of hot cocoa downtown afterward.

Get Active Indoors

If you want to get active indoors, the Montana Indoor Sports complex offers batting cages to practice your swing, an indoor playground for the little ones, as well as drop-in basketball and soccer games. To experience new heights, rope up at Spire Climbing + Fitness with rock climbing for the whole family. You can challenge yourself mentally and physically by climbing the tall walls or ascending shorter, steep climbs on the bouldering walls while the little ones can explore the kids’ walls.

JumpTime Bozeman Trampoline Park also has a variety of fun attractions to keep everyone in the family bouncing. Their Glow-in-the-Dark Ninja Warrior course will challenge you with physical obstacles; the Storm Castle Tower will test your comfort with heights, allowing you to jump from platforms of 5 or 10 feet with an airbag to catch you at the bottom; and a slackline will put your balance skills to the test. For families with very little ones, there’s a toddler zone with an ultra-soft, padded obstacle course.

Hit the Sled Hill

In the winter, when a thick layer of snow has covered all of Bozeman, sledding is an easy, low commitment activity that’s fun for everyone. Peet’s Hill is a local’s favorite, with a relatively steep downhill to get your adrenaline pumping. For a more mellow ride with super young kiddos, hit up Lindley Park’s rolling hills. Snowfill Recreation Area is also a great spot for sledding, Nordic skiing, and letting your dog roam free without a leash. You can rent snow tubes and sleds at places like Big Boys Toys here in town.
