Bridger Bowl 2020-21 Season: How New Policies Will Affect Visitors During COVID-19

The Bridger Mountains are a staple to the city of Bozeman, seeming to rise right up out of the horizon and engulf half of the sky. They’re the focal point as you stroll down Main Street, the landmark as you head down the highway. In the late spring, they’re skirted in lush green grass that gives way to dusted white peaks, and after a first snow, they truly do look caked with powdered sugar. And as beautiful as they are to look at, Bozemanites and visitors alike know that there’s much more to the Bridger mountain range than simple sight-seeing.

The Unmatched Convenience of Bridger Bowl

Awaiting you on the mountainside is some of the best skiing and snowboarding the valley has to offer. While it has a reputation for being a little more affordable than its sister down the pass in Big Sky, Bridger Bowl is making our list of likes for its unbeatable convenience. If you were to leave from the heart of downtown and head towards the slopes, you’d find yourself pulling into the parking lot a mere twenty minutes later. A scenic route leads snow enthusiasts from Main Street through the canyon, and to the range in no time at all. It’s the perfect no-fuss day trip for both families and thrill-seekers alike.

What Bridger Has to Offer

The mountain itself hosts 2,000 acres of in-bounds terrain outfitted with 11 ski lifts that keep lines moving and you spending more time on the slopes than you do in the chair. For more advanced skiers looking for a challenge, you’ve come to the right spot. The slope is known for its extreme inbound terrain as well as its cold, dry snow (known as colloquially cold smoke). While much of this more advanced terrain is lift-accessible, most of it will still require a bit of an on-foot trek. We promise the reward is well worth the effort. But for every daredevil looking to relish in the extremity of the mountain, there are more than enough beginners to go around. Don’t let the mountain scare you. It’s a wonderful spot for beginners, children, and families to learn to ski or snowboard.

How Bridger is Keeping You Safe, Now More than Ever

Bridger Bowl has been doing its due diligence to make sure the mountainside opens up for a healthy season in more ways than one this year. During the off months, they’ve been working tirelessly to develop a system that allows their professionals to safely and effectively operate the slopes while making visitor health a top priority. Bridger Bowl will be opening its slopes in December using a new online reservation portal that allows season and ticket holders to secure their spots in an organized, regulated manner. If you’d like to learn more about the new precautions being taken, please visit this press release. We think it’s safe to say you’ll be able to enjoy the slopes this year, but remember that Bridger’s policies are actively changing as the situation unfolds. We highly encourage you to check the ski area’s website and start planning well in advance of your visit.
