Hiking

Bozeman offers hiking of all levels for any hiker of any age. Included are suggestions of varying difficulty and length. For a full list of great local trails visit alltrails.com .

College M Trail: If you are looking for a good hike close to home be sure to hike the College M Trail. You can see the “M” on the Bridger Mountains, where two trails converge at the top. You may select a longer, more moderate trail, or the shorter, more advanced trail. No matter which trail you chose, you will find yourself at the top by the “M” and have incredible views of all of Bozeman.

South Cottonwood Creek Trail: South Cottonwood Creek Trail is an easy trail that is friendly for all levels of hikers. The trail is 4.4 miles long with 488 feet of elevation gain with gorgeous creek crossings. This trail is very popular, so consider getting an early start.

Sacagawea Peak: This trail is a moderate hike but a longer trail, at 4.5 miles, and 1,975 feet of elevation gain. When you reach the top of the trail, you are at the highest point in the Bridger Mountain Range (9,596 feet) where you enjoy 360-degree unobstructed views. At the bottom you can walk down to Fairy Lake, a gorgeous, blue/green high alpine lake. This trail is not accessible in winter.
Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding

Downtown Bozeman is less than 20 miles from Bridger Bowl Ski Area and less than 60 miles from Big Sky Resort. With some of the best skiing in North America, Bozeman is the perfect home base for your ski vacation.

Bridger Bowl Ski Area : Ski the cold smoke! The local favorite ski area is less than 20 miles from Downtown Bozeman features incredible skiing and terrain for everyone. With affordable ticket prices and multi-day discounts, there’s a lot to love about Bridger Bowl. Loft503 is the perfect fit for a day of skiing. Come home to a steam shower and five-star beds for ultimate relaxation and get ready for another day on the slopes.

Big Sky Resort : Just 51 miles from downtown Bozeman you will find the biggest skiing in America at Big Sky Resort. Home of world class big mountain skiing and enough terrain for all levels of skiers. Parks

Take in the beauty and immenseness that is Bozeman and its surrounding areas. With six mountain ranges that surround Bozeman and more beyond, you will be blown away by the giant peaks, rushing rivers, and robust valleys. A day in one of our many nearby parks is a the perfect way to explore the outdoors by car, bike, or foot.

Yellowstone National Park : Yellowstone was the first National Park and is worthy of the day trip through. At Yellowstone, expect to see wildlife such as elk and bison, geysers such as the famous Old Faithful, and hydrothermal features. Enjoy the history and beauty of the first National Park. Don’t forget to stop and get locally owned and made Wilcoxson’s Ice Cream for a real treat!

Hyalite Canyon : Hyalite Canyon is the perfect destination for any adventure. A beautiful drive with endless scenery, you may simply adventure for a scenic cruise with a picnic at the day use area by the reservoir, hike one of the numerous trails, or take it to the next level with mountain biking. There are endless possibilities at Hyalite, but a good time is certain!
Peets Hill/Burke Park : Notorious for being the best sunset spot in Bozeman, Peets Hill is nestled in Burke Park and the trail to the top is a moderate trail and friendly to all! With a close proximity to downtown this is perfect for a quick sunset stroll before dinner!
Nordic Skiing

Bozeman Area Nordic Skiing : If you're enjoying a winter visit and looking for a way to enjoy the outdoors in a more leisurely, but exciting fashion, give nordic (cross country) skiing a shot! The enclosed link includes maps of all different nordic ski areas and trail maps. Nordic skiing is a great way to enjoy some fresh air and snow at your own pace. Biking

Town Cruises: If you are enjoying a stay at Loft503, enjoy our complimentary cruiser bikes to tour Downtown Bozeman and its surrounding areas. Bozeman is a very bike-friendly community, and biking is a great way to get to the nearby Cannery District or explore around the downtown area. It is a great way to check out the breweries and tasting rooms in the area, too!

Mountain Biking: Bozeman is a great place for mountain biking. We have many trails for all different levels of bikers. Visit a downtown bike shop for mountain bike rentals. The bike shop professionals will also advise areas to bike depending on experience and skill level to make sure you enjoy your experience to the fullest! Golf

Bridger Creek Golf Course : Bridger Creek Golf Course is a public golf course located just 10 minutes from Downtown Bozeman and is situated at the base of the Bridger Mountains. Enjoy a game of golf while taking in the gorgeous views of the Bridger Mountains.

Cottonwood Hills Golf Club : Cottonwood Hills Golf Club is a public golf course located approximately 20 minutes from Downtown Bozeman and near the Gallatin River. Fly Fishing

Montana Angler : Montana Angler is located in Downtown Bozeman and is a great resource for planning your fishing expedition.
